4re Energies – Who Are We?
We are a 100% South African, black-owned project development company specializing in renewable energy power projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage.
Our expertise encompasses both the development of our own projects and the provision of project development services on a consulting basis.
Our team consists of highly respected industry professionals with over two decades of hands-on experience across the entire land development and project development lifecycle.
This includes: site selection, land acquisition, servitude route selection, servitude negotiation, resource measurement, initial yield assessments and site layouts, management of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, permitting and licensing, as well as support during the negotiation of key commercial agreements.

Our team has collectively contributed to the development of electrical infrastructure and development of renewable energy projects and associated infrastructure across South Africa for nearly two decades.
Key milestones include:
- Identification, screening, and securing of over 3 GW of greenfield wind and solar sites across South Africa.
- Successfully leading the permitting process and advancing multiple wind and solar sites to bid-ready status.
- Negotiating and acquiring land for Eskom substations.
- Securing overhead powerline servitudes for Eskom and securing servitude areas for Eskom substations.
- Acquiring land for battery storage sites for Eskom.
- Serving as the environmental lead on the Sere Wind Farm Project.
- Collaborating with Eskom, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), and NERSA to alleviate grid congestion.
